Thomas Newcomen was born in February, 12th in 1663 in Daratmouth, Devon, England. He was an English engineer and inventor. He is commonly named the Industrial Revolution's Father because he was the first innovator and inventor in the industry field.
In 1715, Newcomen met his partner Thomas Savery. Together they built an atmospheric vapor machine. It pumped water out of the carbon mines in the region of Newcomen in the southeast of England, more particularly in Cornualles. He installed many vapor machines in England. He built more than 100 machines before it expired in 1733. His design was improved for James Watt.
The advantages of this machine were so many that it quickly replaced the Savery's Vapor Machines, and in the late 1710 practically every vapor machine in England had installed the Newcomen pumping system. He exported his invent in the following years to America and other countries. He died in August 5th, 1729
